The winners and highly commended honourees of InsuranceERM's inaugural Asia Pacific 2024 awards have been announced.
The prestigious awards recognise the companies, teams and service providers in Asia Pacific that have excelled in insurance risk management, as well as actuarial and risk modelling.
Singapore Life's (Singlife) numerous risk management milestones achieved in 2024, including cultivating a proactive risk culture and improvements to its business and operational resiliency, make it the deserved winner of our risk team of the year.
Looking ahead to next year, the insurer's chief risk officer Ashley Tan has told InsuranceERM that in 2025, Singlife aims to improve its risk management capabilities through a multifaceted approach.
Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company scooped climate risk initiative of the year for the way it has worked towards establishing a net-zero portfolio through environmental, social and governance investments and engagements with investees. Highly commended for the climate risk initiative of the year went to Tokio Marine Group.
WTW achieved great success in the Asia Pacific awards, securing actuarial modelling solution of the year; and ALM solution of the year. WTW was also highly commended for reporting software of the year.
InsuranceERM's deputy editor and commercial editor, Ronan McCaughey, thanked everyone for submitting excellent entries and praised the judging panel for their expertise and time.

How the awards were judged
An independent panel of judges from the Asia Pacific region reviewed the entry material submitted and then voted in a secret ballot. The votes were counted and verified by InsuranceERM's team.
The panel of judges are senior risk, insurance and actuarial industry experts each chosen for their, independence, knowledge and objectivity.
The judges' decision is final and neither InsuranceERM nor the judging panel will enter into any correspondence regarding individual entries and/or the award winners.
