The Insurance Risk & Capital Americas conference starts today in New York - offering the chance to share in-person best practice with chief risk officers, (CROs) chief investment officers and regulators from North America.
Held at etc.venues in New York, the one-day event features two tracks from InsuranceERM and our sister publication Insurance Asset Risk - covering all aspects of risk, regulation, investment, and environmental, social and governance factors (ESG) impacting insurers.
The conference will particularly examine inflationary risk, geopolitics and US monetary policy in a challenging environment. And a CRO panel will discuss the necessary tools for responding to emerging risks.
A keynote address will be given by Nick Silitch, CRO and senior vice president at Prudential Financial.
Attendees will also be able to contribute to a discussion on The Great Resignation, an economic trend of workers leaving their jobs in mass numbers since Covid-19, and consider how the industry can recruit top talent.
Other discussion topics include:
- Progress update and impacts of meeting a net zero commitment
- Regulatory approaches to managing the financial risks from climate change
- The ESG data challenge for both sides of insurers’ balance sheets
- Can catastrophe modelling evolve fast enough to keep pace with climate change?
- Managing increasing complexity in the investment portfolio
