09 November 2020

To understand how the Covid-19 pandemic will transform the insurance sector's risk and capital management, register for the Insurance Risk & Capital EMEA virtual conference, which takes place online on 2-3 December.

The Insurance Risk & Capital EMEA virtual conference is an exciting initiative, combining a mixture of live-streamed and pre-recorded content, and networking via a virtual event platform.

The event features four streams covering all aspects of risk and capital management, investment and climate issues for re/insurers in the Emea region.

Track 1 will focus on insurance and risk in a world after Covid-19 and examine the global risks and developments that chief risk officers and insurance boards should be considering as part of their enterprise risk management strategies.

The second track will cover climate risk, sustainability and environmental, social and corporate governance.

Track 3 will concentrate on insurance regulation, as well as technological advances in risk management.

Finally, track 4 will explain what operational resilience will mean post-Covid-19, as well as examining cyber, outsourcing and digital transformation in the face of disruption.

Gabriel Bernardino, chairman of the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority, will be the keynote speaker for the first day of the conference.

Charlotte Gerken, executive director of insurance, at the UK's Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA), will be the keynote speaker for the event's second day. She will give a regulator's outlook for 2021, and the PRA's key areas of focus.

Other discussion topics during the two-day event include:

• Product innovation in post-Covid times;

• the future of pandemic cover;

• preparing for the Solvency II review;

• insurers' investment strategies; and

• climate risk modelling

The virtual conference will also feature speed networking and discussion groups where participants can meet up and share best practice on key topics for re/insurers in the region.
