Jan-Hendrik Erasmus appointed Aviva CRO

Aviva has appointed Jan-Hendrik Erasmus as group chief risk officer (CRO), replacing Angela Darlington who took over as chief executive of Aviva UK Insurance in April

Erasmus is currently CRO of Dutch group NN. He will step down from that role at the end of this year, and will take up his position with Aviva in February 2020.

NN said it has started seeking a new CRO and Delfin Rueda, chief financial officer of NN Group, will assume CRO responsibilities until a successor is found.

Erasmus was appointed CRO of NN in October 2016. He was also responsible for reinsurance and procurement within the group.

NN chief executive David Knibbe said: “Jan-Hendrik’s efforts to further strengthen NN Group’s overall risk framework have highly contributed to the strong position and resilience of the company, as well as to the professionalisation of the risk function. He also played an important role expanding NN’s Partial Internal Model under Solvency II to include the Delta Lloyd Life and non-life entities in the Netherlands.”
