InsuranceERM's climate risk and sustainability award winners - and highly commended - for 2024 can be revealed.
Our publication's awards have become the Oscars of the insurance risk sector, so to win or be highly commended is a marvellous achievement.
Now in their second year, InsuranceERM's climate risk and sustainability awards recognise the individuals, teams, companies and software providers who stood out as leaders and innovators in this area of international focus.
Rachel Delhaise, group head of sustainability at specialist re/insurer Convex, achieved the accolade of climate and sustainability champion of the year in acknowledgment of her outstanding contributions to the insurance industry.
Her role at Convex has enabled her to combine her expertise in insurance with a passion for climate action, making her a key figure in helping the industry transition towards a low-carbon economy.
Axa wins the prestigious sustainable re/insurer of the year title in acknowledgment of its ongoing commitment to addressing climate change and fostering social inclusion. The award also recognises that Axa's environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy is underpinned by strong governance and a rigorous framework for integrating ESG criteria into investment and insurance processes.
This year's rising star award goes to Sereina Pfister, a sustainability risk manager at NN Group, in recognition of her leadership, project management talent and ability to drive collaboration across the business.
The judges were impressed by Pfister's talent for project management and the way she communicated progress with internal stakeholders to ensure NN Group has confidence and clarity in the expected deliverables.
InsuranceERM's deputy editor and commercial editor, Ronan McCaughey, thanked everyone who submitted entries and praised the judging panel for their expertise and time.
McCaughey said: "To our winners and highly commended, congratulations on your well-deserved recognition. Your passion, collaboration, dedication and vision have set a standard of excellence for re/insurers and risk functions globally.
"Winning an InsuranceERM award is not just a recognition of your hard work; it's a reminder of the impact insurance and climate professionals can have when they collaborate and strive for excellence. The whole world owes them gratitude."
