David Hollander has taken over as EY's global insurance leader, replacing Shaun Crawford who has been appointed the consultancy's global vice chair for industry.
Based in Philadelphia, PA, Hollander will lead a team of more than 12,000 consultants globally across audit, business consulting, tax and corporate finance services.
He has more than 30 years of experience working in and advising the insurance industry, including broad business and IT strategy, hands-on leadership and implementation support for major operational change programs.
Hollander joined EY in 2011 after spending most of his career at Accenture, where he built and ran the global insurance software business. Most recently, he was CEO of UniRisX, a UK-based SaaS-based policy administration solution.
"It is imperative that the insurance industry evolves in today's transformative age. Insurers are faced with constantly changing business methods and disruptive technologies," Hollander said. "I look forward to leading the global network of EY professionals as they continue to guide clients through the evolving insurance sector."
In his new role, London-based Crawford is charged with keeping EY at the forefront of industry disruption and convergence issues.
