CyberCube’s new vice president of analytics Jon Laux has begun his role with a bang by releasing a rap about cyber risk.
In a video that merges the world of insurance risk, technology and hip hop, the rapper (stage name: J-ON) and cyber risk expert said his song “is certainly a banger”.
Singing, “I strive for wisdom as you and I try and rewrite cyber risk into science fiction,” he described himself “as an actuary and a rapper” in the terrific performance.
Speaking to InsuranceERM, Laux said his role at CyberCube will involve him overseeing its cyber risk and actuarial modelling teams.
Laux joins from Aon where he was previously head of cyber analytics for the broker’s reinsurance solutions business.
Laux is a fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society. The cyber risk expert also his own website showcasing his music.
“Rap to me is about energy, wordplay and maximal messaging in a compact medium. If a picture is worth a thousand word, then I hope a rap can encapsulate a 45-minute talk in a memorable way,” he says.
