The annual Dive In festival, designed to promote diversity and inclusion (D&I) in the insurance industry, will return for the ninth consecutive year in September.
Taking place from 26 to 28 September, the event will operate in a hybrid format, with a mixture of online and in-person events across 40 countries.
The festival will focus on the theme of “Unlocking Innovation: The Power of Inclusion”. Organisers said the agenda will include discussions on topics including non-visible disabilities, mental health, religious equality, LGBT+ inclusivity, ageism and social mobility and will prioritise “the necessity for innovation to aid the insurance industry in adapting to the changing landscape of the global economy.”
Inga Beale, former chief executive of Lloyd’s of London, told InsuranceERM earlier this month how successful innovation requires diversity and how she had “sometimes despaired at the lack of adoption and innovation" in the insurance sector.
This year’s festival will also introduce a reverse mentoring programme, designed to promote cross- level D&I engagement once the festival has finished.
Tom Allebone-Webb, head of strategy and innovation at Lloyd’s, said D&I is not “just a business objective but an urgent necessity”.
“By actively involving the commercial side of businesses, we can fuel the much-needed innovation required in our industry,” he added.
Festival partners for Dive In 2023 include AIG, Aviva and Munich Re.
Registration for the event will start on 5 September and further details can be found here.
