Romain Paserot, director of insurance supervision, Autorité de Contrôle Prudentiel et de Resolution
Paserot has led the Solvency II project at France's prudential regulator, pushing the country to prepare for the regulation and positioning it ahead of its peers in many respects.
Who or what has inspired your work?
The list is growing everyday ….
What have your learnt about communicating risk?
Always ask yourself before speaking : what have I missed ?
What are the major challenges ahead?
Making everything that has been developed in Solvency II work together and being able to use this in an efficient way to take good decisions in troubled times.
What advice would you give to someone wanting to emulate your success?
Not sure about the success yet, but still: choose carefully your team and never forget your long-term target when making everyday decisions.
What are your other interests?
Art in all forms, from paintings to opera. I always try to save a few hours in a business trip to search for a delicate piece of artwork to see, or a night opera performance to attend. It always re-fuels your energy.
