Andrew Bailey Financial Conduct Authority
It took the FCA a long time to find a new CEO following the departure of "bank-basher" Martin Wheatley in July 2015, but it was probably worth the wait. As CEO of the UK's other financial regulator, the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA), Andrew Bailey has proven capable of treading the fine line between keeping the industry happy while imposing stricter standards. In his new role as FCA chief (which he will take up once his successor is appointed) Bailey will have a big influence on the conduct risk agenda – a topic that soared up the list of concerns in the aftermath of the financial crisis and that remains hot today.
