GRESB has crunched the competition like it crunches environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data to pick up InsuranceERM's climate data provider of the year award.
The organisation collects, validates, scores, and independently benchmarks ESG data to provide business intelligence and regulatory reporting solutions for investors and financial markets.
It was also recognised by the judges for its commitment to delivering high-quality and reliable ESG information.
The suite of products offered by GRESB was another reason it was chosen as the winner. Its Transition Risk Report, for example, enables investors, managers and other stakeholders to understand climate-related transition risks in their portfolios.
Similarly, GRESB helps preparers to align their climate disclosures with the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) through the use of its TCFD alignment report product.
The firm provides a similar reporting solution for the EU's Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation.
GRESB was also recognised for its efforts to promote transparency and disclosure of climate-related data.
"We empower GRESB members to disclose their climate data in a TCFD-aligned manner, facilitating a comprehensive understanding of climate risks and opportunities," GRESB says.
Looking ahead, GRESB says it is committed to evolving its ESG standards for real estate and infrastructure to continue to address emerging industry needs.
It adds that its governance structure ensures that its transparently governed and annually reviewed standards remain in harmony with industry requirements. By mapping external frameworks, on an annual basis, the data provider says it reduces reporting burdens while ensuring the consistency and reliability of reported information.
