Risk, advisory and audit firm Crowe UK is no stranger to the feeling of winning and has scooped InsuranceERM's risk consultancy title for the fifth consecutive year.
One of the factors contributing to these awards wins, which has consistently been highlighted by the judges, is that Crowe continues to have a well-respected reputation in the insurance industry, and is known for its practical approach.
Testimonials confirmed this again with one insurer commending the consultancy's initiative to bring together sustainability professionals working in second line risk functions.
Justin Elks, a partner and head of risk consulting, at Crowe UK, tells InsuranceERM this year the consultancy has experienced a significant shift in supporting clients by focusing on the cost-efficiency of their governance, risk and resilience work. In doing so, Elks says it helps its clients to achieve more value.
Sustainability and climate risks also continue to be a focus for Crowe as numerous regulatory developments have added complexity.
"We have helped clients to prioritise where they can make a difference in managing risks and opportunities, while minimising duplication and silos," explains Elks.
Looking ahead, Crowe anticipates a heightened focus on improving frameworks that perhaps look good on paper, but don't help organisations build resilience in practice.
Organisations are seeking to "tune up" their change and transformation approaches, to ensure they support and don't detract from resilience, says Elks.
Crowe has also been recognised supporting industries and communities. For example, Crowe set up its sustainability risk function roundtable last year, recognising a trend for second line ESG specialists and supporting their development.
Overall, the judging panel were impressed with the way Crowe UK has helped a wide range of clients transform their risk management. They also praised the variety of client testimonials as part of the consultancy's entry submission.
