Crowe knows what it takes to be successful – as highlighted by this being the fourth consecutive year it has won the risk consultancy title in the InsuranceERM UK & Europe awards.
The consultancy's impressive list of testimonials detailing how it supports businesses is another big plus.
Crowe says the "why" of its risk consulting practice is to help clients build sustainable businesses that deliver value, and can respond to and benefit from change and uncertainty. The consultancy explains it does this by helping businesses focus their resources where it really matters in order to unlock the value inherent in their organisations.
Crowe stresses it understands what works in practice and can deliver advice that supports genuine and lasting improvements. As the business grows, it has made selective hires over the last year, bringing in an experienced director, Isaac Alfon, and Alex Hindson as a partner to lead its growing sustainability practice.
Another reason Crowe wins the award is because it clearly explained its great strides in supporting clients on their sustainability journeys.
Asked about the building blocks insurers need to achieve their climate risk and sustainability goals, Hindson says: "Insurers need to set a sustainability strategy, founded on a clear perspective from the board as to why sustainability is important, and what the organisation's ambition needs to be to address growing stakeholder expectations. This provides the firm foundations for everything else."
He adds: "Ultimately, it's about ensuring what gets measured gets done, and this is aligned with performance objectives and targets that will ensure the sustainability strategy is delivered. It's in the doing that the disclosure becomes credible. Taking tangible action is more important than 'looking good', and 'looking good' without action isn't sustainable long term."
