InsuranceERM's judging panel was highly impressed by Decision Focus's approach to covering operational risk in all its aspects, whether this is business continuity planning, third-party risk management or IT security.
The London-headquartered governance, risk and compliance (GRC) software vendor was founded in 2004 and has recorded numerous achievements in the years since.
To win an InsuranceERM award for the second year in a row fills the Decision Focus team with pride, says Jeff Robinson, head of risk and compliance solutions at the vendor.
He explains the company's no-code platform means the product is easy for employees to use at any level in the company and requires minimal training.
This point was reflected in the judges' comments who praised the Decision Focus tool for its flexibility and robust reporting capability.
A key feature of the Decision Focus platform is the range of modules it offers users in areas ranging from policy management, product governance and wider aspects of compliance. This aims to support insurers with business impact analysis, as well as scoping and mapping dependencies and resources.
Robinson says: "Our desire is that we are the governance, risk and compliance solution of choice for an insurance company. Winning the operational risk award shows us the judges recognise the breadth and the depth that our platform offers."
He also stresses its integrated approach to risk management provides a cost-effective solution for insurers.
Asked about innovations Decision Focus is working on, Robinson says: "We have established artificial intelligence (AI) in the platform. That is going to become a gamechanger for risk management teams.
"For example, it will allow users to interrogate data and have content queries. AI is a huge development area for the market."
