Apparity receives the award for end-user computing (EUC) risk management solution of the year for its product innovation and prioritisation of customer needs.
EUC risks can be difficult to identify given the volume of files in an insurance organisation. Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, Access databases, and Python scripts are just some examples of end user applications.
A lack of oversight and native controls being overlooked can be a source of risk in these platforms.
Apparity explains it has helped overcome such issues by automating the EUC lifecycle, which helps insurers "manage applications and models where the risk of accidental or malicious user changes can have a material impact on critical business processes".
The firm's solutions can be configured to meet specific regulatory requirements, such as Solvency II and BaFIN's VAIT regulation.
An achievement for Apparity in the last twelve months was the launch of Apparity Cloud, a software as a service (SaaS) cloud platform.
Apparity Cloud meets insurers' demands "to leverage single tenant or multi-tenant cloud services," and the ability to create an Inventory of Anything comprised of data products and models, explains Apparity.
Other recent innovations by Apparity include its Active Capture tool to detect EUC risks at the point-of-use.
The solutions provider says it has continually received positive feedback from its users. Notably, Apparity has had a 100% customer retention rate over the previous two years.
It also worked with a major UK insurer throughout 2022 to update its solution configuration to align with the player's growth and create a single data set across the organisation.
Looking ahead, a spokesperson for Apparity says it plans to keep responding to regulatory trends and customer feedback. It notes another key area of continual development is adding robust controls for new file types as they become prevalent for insurers.
